Once the embodiment of masculinity, fast cars, strength, and dominance were revered — symbols of success for kids in the 70s and 80s. Now these ideals are now increasingly rejected, even taboo.
TV shows like Top Gear, once the pinnacle of masculine culture, now feel out of step with modern perspectives. For those raised with these symbols of manhood, the world now demands a shift in focus.
For woman, the world hopefully feels more inclusive, but for men raised on these ageing values, there’s a growing tension between the past and the present — and a sense of being left behind in a world that no longer embraces such markers of success.
